In St. Petersburg, on the eve of the Day of Metallurgist, a round table “Achievements and new challenges in the metal and scrap market. Foreign economic activity trends. Development of technologies and investment potential “. The organiser of the event is the Association NSRO “RUSLOM.COM” with the support of the Government of St. Petersburg.
The event was attended by Deputy Chairman of the Committee for External Relations of St. Petersburg Arbi Abubakarov, Head of the Export Development Department of the Committee for Industrial Policy, Innovation and Trade of St. Petersburg Anna Varyagina, Director of NSRO RUSLOM.COM Viktor Kovshevny and representatives of the metallurgical and scrap collection industry from all over the country.
During the event, the participants discussed the current situation on the Russian and world markets for scrap and metals in the context of export restrictions, potential ways of developing foreign economic activity in the field of metallurgy and scrap procurement, new technologies in the scrap market and in the field of waste disposal, as well as the environmental agenda.
Separately, the participants in the discussion dwelled on the issue of increasing export duties on the export of ferrous scrap. During the discussion, various opinions and forecasts were expressed, the experience of implementing the previous restrictions was considered.
According to experts, today the metal fund in Russia exceeds 1.5 billion tons, and its volume is increasing. The industry in the Northwestern Federal District employs about 15 thousand people. Professional holiday – Day of Metallurgist, industry workers will celebrate July 18 in 2021.
