The event was held in Beijing as part of a business tour of Russian companies, and was devoted to the exchange of experience in the field of scrap metal. The participants discussed: trade cooperation, exchange of delegations, technology, logistics, specifics of bank payments between countries, state regulation, and business support measures.
Chairman of CAMU informed, that next year the Chinese association will celebrate its 30th anniversary, and at present it includes 700 organisations. About 500 of them are scrap-processors and steelmakers, and the rest are equipment and service suppliers.
China’s annual demand for ferrous scrap exceeds 215m tonnes and non-ferrous scrap is 20m tonnes. The country exports some of its scrap metal from Russia and must process it to Chinese standards. The country has refused to import waste.
