Today, the Russian scrap collection industry provides 60,000 jobs and consists of more than 5,000 companies, paying over 15 billion rubles of taxes to the state budget annually. This is a key industry on which the smooth operation of metallurgists depends, and hence the functioning of the country’s economy.
Each year it becomes more transparent, open and technologically advanced. Over the years, a trend for greater social responsibility has been gaining momentum in the industry: today metal scrap industry companies are paying greater attention to socially responsible projects and charity, recognising their responsibility to society and striving to contribute to the development of the country. We believe that these efforts should not go unnoticed.
On the eve of the Metallurgist Day in Russia, a section has been opened on the official National Recycling Association RUSLOM.COM website, which will publish information about the social projects of the Association’s members. The section will serve as a reference point for all representatives of the industry and will highlight the projects of which the industry leaders have ample right to be proud of.
